Autonomous Assistants
AutAss is an interdisciplinary work group that deals with R&D aspects of autonomous assistants for humans. An "autonomous assistant" is a technical device that can act autonomously and assist with different human activities according to their design. Currently, 7 professors work together in AutAss. Supported by staff members and students they work on cutting-edge issues resulting from research on autonomous assistants and inquiries from companies.The aims of AutAss are to boost application-focused research in this field and support regional and supraregional activities with the available funds. Companies are to receive support in realising research findings, and any gained practical experience should flow back into application-orientated research and teaching. In this context students have the opportunity to work on specific projects, and in the long run, Cologne University of Applied Sciences will become an information centre for questions in this field of research.
